Lake Toba is the location of a super massive VEI 8 volcanic eruption around 69,000 to 77,000 years ago that triggered global climate change. The current dating method stipulates that 74,000 years ago were more accurate. This eruption is the largest explosive eruption on Earth in the last 25 million years. According to the theory of the Toba disaster, this eruption had a major impact on human populations throughout the world; the impact of the eruption killed most of the people who lived at that time and is believed to cause a shrinking population in Middle East Africa and India which has affected the genetics of human populations throughout the world today.

Scientists agree that the Toba eruption triggered a volcanic winter that caused world temperatures to fall between 3 to 5 ° C (5.4 to 9.0 ° F), and up to 15 ° C (27 ° F) in the upper latitudes. Further research on Lake Malawi, Central Africa, found dust deposits of the Toba eruption, but found no evidence of major climate change in East Africa. On June 18, 2018, the accident of sinking a ferry took place on Lake Toba and sank more than 190 people.

and also there is a famous tour that is rangat water tourism precisely under the foot of the mountain pusuk buhit, rangat water is warm water originating from the mountain which erupts and Pusuk Buhit itself is an active mountain which is very sacred by the Batak ethnic so that various mystical stories are also found in this mountain. This mountain is located on Samosir Island, and is the highest peak of all the highlands on Samosir Island. With a height of about 1077 meters from Lake Toba, this mountain is seen standing proudly. So that if you are in the waters of Lake Toba, then Mount Pusuk Buhit will be very clearly visible with a green peak with a combination of gray and covered by clouds around it. then when we swim in warm water it does not pay money in, just go in but after we finish bathing or finish swimming we are required to eat in the warm water bath.
